The Octopus’s Garden on the Tweed River

Maceco is proud to be part of this years Octopus’s Garden being held on the foreshore of the Tweed River.

Our aim for the weekend is to provide information to the local community about the environmental and financial benefits of switching to solar.

Every person who talks to us can go into the draw to win a 1.5kW solar system for their home. That’s a value of $5,000 along with years of financial savings.

Also Maceco will be donating $500 from each system sold to the Volunteer Marine Rescue at Danger Point and continuing our support to the Octopus’s Garden festival.

We hope to see you there for a day of local fun.

Choux Choux Patisserie Bangalow benefit from solar

Choux Choux Patisserie at Bangalow have reduce their regular monthly power bill by over $1,000, through the installation of a 20kW solar system. Prior to installation, Maceco conducted an energy usage audit, as well as a forward forecast of a commercial solar system could achieve. This was conducted in conjunction with the business owners, Oliver and Angelique and their very cooperative landlord.

Oliver and Angelique are now paying less for their power usage and with the system being cash positive from day one, they have managed to successfully secure a more profitable future vision for their bakery.

Scotland boasts largest off-shore wind farm

The title of ‘world’s largest offshore wind farm‘ has been batted about many times in the past few years – from the 100-turbine Thanet Wind Farm in the North Sea to the 175-turbine London Array. However Moray Offshore Renewables Ltd is planning to top both by constructing three offshore wind farms located 22km (13.5 miles) from the Caithness coast that will contain a total of 339 turbines. The £4.5bn project has the potential to power up to one million households in Scotland.

Motel Kempsey go solar

Through maximising the power of the daytime sun, owner Jason Vogler has been working with Maceco to further reduce the motels electricity spend.

After the installation of a 20Kw system, by Maceco, Motel Kempsey were keen to implement new usage strategies, working side by side with our consultant Gerry MacKenzie. The initial aim of the system was to cover daytime usage of the 20 room motel, ensuring all room refrigerators, onside laundry and pool were powered by the solar system. This strategy has seen an approximate 30% reduction in their existing electricity bill.

Further daytime usage strategies are still being implemented, with ongoing monitoring and support provided by Maceco.

Just another example of how solar is helping business maximise their yearly profits through implementation and management of solar solutions.
